Freedom & Agency

We’re blessed with freedom and agency. But how much of it do we actually use? 

Every now and then I’ll find memorable moments that highlight my week, but they’re often rare, and most of those are moments that happened to me by chance, not ones I created for myself.

Most people, including myself, coast through most of our days, living in a personal ‘low-risk’ reality. 

Fulfillment is curated through those memorable highlights, and we can carve more of those moments for ourselves by consciously enacting our free will and agency. The fundamental ingredient to free will/agency is risk (or another way to put it, the reason why it’s so difficult to enact free will/agency is because outcomes are uncertain). An uncertain future is innate in being human, so doing things that have uncertain outcomes is fundamental to us.
